Ingredients

  • 1 cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)

  • 2 cups spinach, chopped

  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 3–4 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 1 green chili, chopped

Step 1: Cook the Dal

  • Rinse and pressure cook the toor dal with turmeric and water (about 3–4 whistles).

  • Lightly mash once cooked.

Step 2: Add Spinach

  • Stir in chopped spinach and simmer for 5–7 minutes until softened.
